Prepping for Art Shows

It's been a very busy summer, as I prep to exhibit in art shows. Not many. 2 actually and really, the second one will take much preparation, which has been pushing me to get ready, get ready.  I've, lately, put more efforts into completing small originals and coasters. The end of the month will see me finishing a 40 x 40 inches, among other pieces. More framed prints on tile are coming. I hope they sell well, as I haven't sold one yet. It's new, so there's time yet. Speaking of which, it's about time to shop for more wood....

New Products

As I prep for shows, I'm adding new products to the site. The coasters are ceramic tiles with a resin finish. It's a good addition to have prior to launching the magazine. Since I have about 7 minis on canvas, my plan was to have all of the frames the same color but pulling colors out of the painting itself not only enhances the art, it becomes a part of the work. Several pieces will make a nice ensemble. New Work, New Lifestyle and Faith Ringgold

Interestingly enough, I'm two weeks on the vegan path and I found myself with a vicious cold that hit me on Sunday. I'm about 75% today but gee wee, it was rough! I pushed myself to complete a piece through it all. About two years ago, I was visiting my acupuncturist to relieve me of some health issues and because I eventually resorted back to die-hard eating habits that didn't benefit my overall health, the problem resurfaced. I've gone a step further in adapting to a vegan lifestyle. Outside of this cold, I feel great. My energy is up, I sleep...
