Atlanta Show, Canvas Prints & Organization

The year is drawing to a close. 2019 has been, not as productive as I'd like, but productive nonetheless. Since my focus word for the coming year is organization,  I'm going to take these last weeks of the year to prepare and go into 2020 with a good start on it. I'm under no illusions about it. Anymore. 3 facts I'm clear on: It's a daily ritual that will demand my attention.  I have to do it, whether I want to or not.  Each day needs to have a plan. My mind is already in the direction of gathering paperwork...

Cards and Prints Available

It's been a somewhat busy day. I have new greeting cards and canvas prints coming in next week. which the prepping of them was the administrative part of my afternoon. The prints are small (11 x 14) and I like the images I chose, which are from original paintings I did so long ago. Something like 10 or more years. I will be printing more cards...

Bluff Park Art Show

Good Friday, because all Fridays are, where I'm concerned. Time is definitely winding down to October 5th. In advertising for the Bluff Park Art Show, I noticed one of my pieces was featured.  Of late, I've been researching and looking at the business side of art, re-acquainting myself with specific artists by watching a lot of YouTube videos and learning, learning and learning some more.   I'm also nearing the video shoot for my work and it's turning out to be interesting, as things can go sometimes but I gotta keep on truckin'.

The Show Will Go On

Two nights ago, I had the worst dream. For some reason,  I didn't make it to my October show and once I arrived, everyone was set up except me. My mom was volunteering and I asked her to call the people in charge to see if I could set up although I was late. She didn't want to. She was shucking and jiving, then finally picked up the phone to ask. They said no. I cried and cried in the dream and had to wake up from it. You see, I haven't shown in awhile. My new work has primarily...

Work in Progress

Work in Progress

I'm on a short break before heading back to the studio. So, I've resumed the 40 x 40 piece I started and restarted months ago. It wasn't my plan but I'm progressing and it's working out better. I'm not altogether sure how it fits into the project I'm working toward. I just know it's taking up a great deal of space in my work area and needs to head upstairs to the gallery asap.  On Wednesday,  I'm dropping off a few pieces for the group show at Arts Clayton Gallery. The show will hang from September 1 to 26. I...
