More Paper Cutouts
Publié par Tosh Fomby le

I'm yet to add the newer pieces to the site. I'm actually getting them matted but prior to that step, I'm completing several 15x11 inch paper cutouts. In the meantime, I'm somewhat frantic in getting all of what I need in order to feel comfortable going into my next shows. Today, however, is the Hapeville Artwalk and Exhibition. I need to clean up this little mess I made and prepare for it.

Engraved Painting
Publié par Tosh Fomby le

This new rendition of The Cornerstone is not a departure from the sculpted layered wood works. It's an addition that will merge and come together cohesively once everything's in place. As I engraved this small study, I had every intention of it being painted with thin, flat color tones but it took a different turn than expected. At this stage, as early as it is, I'm not certain how to create the effects I was initially going for. I'll deliberate and see how it proceeds on the next round. On another note, I'm behind on producing the magazine and the...

Cards and Prints Available
Publié par Tosh Fomby le

It's been a somewhat busy day. I have new greeting cards and canvas prints coming in next week. which the prepping of them was the administrative part of my afternoon. The prints are small (11 x 14) and I like the images I chose, which are from original paintings I did so long ago. Something like 10 or more years. The original for the card was a mixed media piece of watercolor and graphite wash. The card itself, while inspirational from the outside, is blank inside, for the user to create their own message. I will be printing more cards...

Bluff Park Art Show
Publié par Tosh Fomby le

Good Friday, because all Fridays are, where I'm concerned. Time is definitely winding down to October 5th. In advertising for the Bluff Park Art Show, I noticed one of my pieces was featured. Of late, I've been researching and looking at the business side of art, re-acquainting myself with specific artists by watching a lot of YouTube videos and learning, learning and learning some more. I'm also nearing the video shoot for my work and it's turning out to be interesting, as things can go sometimes but I gotta keep on truckin'.

The Show Will Go On
Publié par Tosh Fomby le

Two nights ago, I had the worst dream. For some reason, I didn't make it to my October show and once I arrived, everyone was set up except me. My mom was volunteering and I asked her to call the people in charge to see if I could set up although I was late. She didn't want to. She was shucking and jiving, then finally picked up the phone to ask. They said no. I cried and cried in the dream and had to wake up from it. You see, I haven't shown in awhile. My new work has primarily...
